Hamar people are an Omotic community inhabiting Southwestern Ethiopia. They live in Hamer Woreda, a fertile part of the Omo RiverValley, in the Debub omo Zone of the Southern Nations. They are largely pastoralists, so their culture places a highvalue on cattle.
